With business as usual in Springfield (although that still inlcludes some extended St. Patrick’s Day business), here’s part 2 of the list of animations that tell you when a character is inside a building.
While you can tap on a building to see who’s inside, the animations are an extra bit of fun. Part 2 covers all the regular buildings currently available from Jake’s Unisex Hair Palace on. You can see Part 1, covering all the buildings up to Moe’s tavern here. Premium buildings will be covered in a separate post.
Jake’s Unisex Hair Palace - there doesn’t appear to be any animation
Springfield Downs - the dog-racing animation runs when the dogs are actually racing and when characters are visiting the track
The Gilded Truffle - the windows on the second floor light up (flickering candles and people having a good time)
King Toot’s - no animations
Police Station - flashing red and white lights
Skip’s Diner - no animations
Luigi’s – smoke rises from the pipes on the roof
Springfield Penitentiary - searchlights
Retirement Castle - no animations
Town Hall - shadows moving in the windows
Muntz House - a raccoon runs onto the roof and chews some electrical wires
Krabappel Apartment - a window on the second floor opens and cigarette smoke is blown out
Channel 6 – the satellite dish rotates (when either someone is doing a task or a program is being made)
Springfield Post Office - the front doors open and mail blows out
Hibbert Family Practice - shadows move in the windows
Springfield General Hospital - the lights on the helipad on the roof flash
Burns Manor - a vulture flies out of the dome and sits on the roof
Pimento Grove - sadly unused, so no animation
Wiggum House - flashing red and blue police lights
El Chemistri - it doesn’t get any use after the level 26 quest, but I’m sure there was animation…
Part 3, focusing on the premium buildings, is still to come.

El Chemistri: windows flash green, door opens & closes.
When areyou going to make part 3?
Hi – probably this weekend, depending on what’s happening
It looks like the retirement castle has something sticking out from behind it (a foot?) whenever somebody’s inside.
El Cemisri has an animation (and probally the best one.). Loghts flash on the inside.
I meant lights.
Now that there’s a slew of new stuff and buildings with Whacking Day I thought I’d thought I’d add my findings on new building animations
1. Sleep-Eazy Motel – The sign lights and flashes and you can see a figure in the office window when a character is in it. Well only character so far is Miss Springfield
2. Duff Stadium – the score board light up and says Home Run when Homer went to yell at the umpires.
3. Lugash’s Gym – the sign flicker’s when Lugash or Lisa is in it.
4. Springfield Coliseum – two spotlights pointed to the sky circle back and forth when Drederick Tatum is in it.
Thanks Mike
Channel 6 … Double time spent, not much diff in reward?
4h Live News Report – cost $670, reward $1500 + XP 350
8h Regular Programming – cost $670, reward $1500 + XP 400
And that’s why buying the Channel 6 News Van is a good idea – it gives you twice the income over the same time period, although also for twice the investment. I can feel a post coming on
I might be pointing out the so obvious everyone knows it thing, but the buildings without animations, tapping on them will tell you if someone’s inside. I’ve found that it seems to work best if you tap on the front door (seems oddly specific, but also seems to work), and you need to watch out for accidentally clicking to speed up, though fortunately there is also a cancel button if you’re quick.
I never knew that. Pretty cool, thanks!!
The Mensa meetings are held at the gazebo but it shows no sign of it either.
el chemstri the door opened and there was green flashing lights i think
el chemistri was some weird green flashing lights i think and the doors opened
