Fredie, commenting on one of today’s threads, drew my attention to the wording above the Mystery Box. I’m not sure if it’s new (I haven’t paid attention to this for a while):
Whether or not it’s new, it’s certainly a little misleading. I tried it out for you and, although I have all the other items mentioned, I could have won another Lard Lad. Instead I got an Angel Topiary.
Maybe it’s just trying to tell you the premium items you could possibly win.
Update: Thanks to everyone who confirmed that this isn’t new – it definitely needs a wording change though. It makes a picket fence so much more of a disappointment!

It is VERY misleading, when I just ‘moved in’ in Online Springfield I usted almost all my donuts on buying mystery boxes for this exact reason. Only ever found an apple and a lemon tree. And Homer’s hammock. And loads of hedges, fences and newspaper dispensers. Loads…

Still waiting for my lemon tree here! I’ve vowed to keep playing this game every day until I get it – since I don’t buy mystery boxes, I just wait for the freebies every 5 days. Been playing daily since late November, still no lemon tree! Mostly brown fences and hedges like everyone else. Once I got the bench with the blue jacket on it, that’s cool. And once I got 3 white fence pieces, which I used as gates in a nice community garden.

It’s always been like that. I’ve received Squeaky Voiced Teen, Batches of 10 and 30 Donuts, but more often it gives you a random non-premium item. The Homer Buddha is the only one that always gives a premium item (Though that item can simply be a Picket Fence)
This is also the same as you receive every five days you play, so you absolutely don’t need to spend ANY donuts on it.
Not for anything else but I happened to get 30 donuts out of a Mystery Box…and the second upside to that was that I didn’t have to pay for the box because I got it off of the daily (i.e. the 5th consecutive [?] day of playing) reward. Thing is I bought the Fruit Bat Man costume so that freebie didn’t really stay mine for long! ÜÜÜ

and I got another mystery box. So I crossed my fingers and opened it…..large hedges….
It’s almost always the fences for me
My last mystery box got me another mystery box and when I took it out of inventory, there was another mystery box inside.when I opened the third mystery box, I got large hedges.
Nice to know. A little disappointing to read this and buy the Mystery Box only to get non-premium decoration stuff.

Hey, I was wondering do you or anyone you know have ever gotten Lard Lads Donuts or the Tire Fire from the mystery box? I’ve tried countless times but came seem to get it!

I too have gotten my squeaky voice teen from the Mystery Box, and even donuts. But I just can’t seem to get the Tire Fire or Lard Lads Donuts. Is it even possible? I haven’t met one person who actually received it from the box!

I think the only really good thing I ever got from a mystery box was the lemon tree. Last time I got one after 5 consecutive days I got… A tree.
Been there even longer than January. Just a tease though. Every time I click it I get a large hedge.
