Just came into a situation where I was able to find out EXACTLY what pieces of the Boardwalk cost and how long they take to build all the way up to the last piece. many people are complaining that EA made the construction of the Squidport a hugely expensive and lengthy event and after seeing this I would totally have to agree. According to my calculations, and I will be adding the table below, it will take 357 days and 19 hours to complete all 146 pieces of the Boardwalk (the first 4 tiles are free). Even if you use donuts to speed up the tasks it will cost you 4314 of them. I know, I know calm down. That is an insane amount of time however you do NOT need all of the Boardwalk pieces to complete the entire Squidport story line. How long that takes will have to be another post but it is not necessary to acquire 150 Boardwalk pieces to get all of the new items and buildings. So we don’t know if EA meant it to be this way or if the glitch in the Squidport entrance, where tapping on it in a friends town actually causes them to lose their piece, has anything to do with it. Maybe new updates will change the current numbers but for now here are the prices and build times.
Boardwalk Tile Cost Menu
1-4 Free instant builds
Tile 5 – $250/60 minutes or 2 donuts to rush
Tile 6 – $450/2 hours or 2 donuts
Tile 7 – $850/4 hours or 2 donuts
Tile 8 – $1,700/8 hours or 4 donuts
Tile 9 – $2,500/12 hours or 6 donuts
Tile 10 – $3,350/16 hours or 8 donuts
Tiles 11-15 – $5,000/24 hours or 12 donuts
Tiles 16-30 – $7,500/1 day 12 hours or 18 donuts
Tiles 31-60 – $10,000/2 days or 24 donuts
Tiles 61-90 – $12,500/2 days 12 hours or 30 donuts
Tiles 91-120 – $15,000/ 3 days or 36 donuts
Tiles 121-150 – $17,500/ 3 days 12 hours or 42 donuts
My advice is “Don’t panic”, take your game 1 tile at a time and get through all of the quest lines. Do NOT worry about getting a 150 tiles. Once you complete the Squidport tasks in full then, unless an update comes through and changes these numbers, work on your tiles. Happy Tapping!
UPDATE: This post is just a reference tool not meant to upset anyone. It is a land expansion and not an event. If you recall, the normal Springfield land squares are quite vast as well and people that have been playing for months still aren’t even close to acquiring all of them yet none of their game play or level progression has been affected. Even without all of the regular land you still advance to new levels and are able to participate in limited time events. The boardwalk is no different. I’m just a geek who likes to figure things out whether they’re needed or not.
