With St. Patrick’s Day still around in Springfield, here’s a quick one before it all disappears…

About a week ago, I wrote a post explaining that there’s unfortunately no cash or XP bonus when you tap on the Leprechaun when you see him in a friend’s town (and you can see that post here). But there’s still a little fun to be had. And that’s because Tapping on a friend’s Leprechaun has the same effect as tapping on your own (only without the money and XP) – he curses unintelligibly, then runs away.

So if you want to leave a friend with some erratic Leprechaun behavior as you pass through their town, give it a try. It’s not instant, which means you won’t be able to see it right away if you’re sitting next to your friend, but it’s a nice random little surprise. And you’ll still be able to do this even when St. Patrick’s Day is just a fond memory.

…and apparently you can do the same with Santa’s Little Helper and the Funzos.

Yesterday I opened a new poll to find out what everyone would do if they won 60 donuts on the Golden Scratch-R and had to spend them.

At the moment, Bumblebee man is in the lead as the first choice premium item (I really thought it would be Moleman!).

If you haven’t voted yet, why not make your choice heard now! And you can vote even if you have all the premium characters – jut imagine what your choice would be if you didn’t.

The Funzos first appeared in the episode The Grift of The Magi as toys designed by Kid First Industries to kill off all the other toys kids got for Christmas. They were launched into the game, appropriately enough, as part of the Christmas 2012 update.

So, should you spend your donuts on them? Honestly – no. The Funzos are a glorious waste of donuts. Sure, they were cute at Christmas when two of them cost Santa coins and you could easily get the third with the bonus donuts from the Christmas Stockings. But now, you would only buy the Funzos if you had “more donuts than sense”, as my grandmother used to say. Okay, she didn’t say exactly that, but you get the idea.

But that makes for a very short post. Assuming you’re still not convinced, why should you get the Funzos? Well, I can only think of 3 reasons:

1. They say cute things. Well, they say exactly 4 cute things – “I’m very mad at you”, “Give me a hug”, “Love”, and “Kill”.
2. They make up a set so if you get them all you also get the character set completion bonus.
3. If your characters are all doing tasks indoors, at least you have the Funzos running around to prove that you’re not building a ghost town.

And here are some good reasons why you should probably look elsewhere to spend your donuts:

1. They have no tasks and don’t feature in any of the quests, making them much more like decorations.
2. Since the Christmas quest, they don’t interact with any other character.
3. For characters that do essentially nothing except run around, they’re quite expensive at 50, 60 and 70 donuts (depending on which color you’re buying).
4. They’re really annoying.

The Squeaky Voice Teen and Moleman together make a much better buy and also complete a set.
