This page is a work in progress – I’ll be adding more stages of the walkthrough as I complete them.
In the past, all buildings and characters were unlocked in order. Remember, too, that unlocking buildings and characters comes through tasks and quests, and you need to complete them all. You should consider the level indicated in the game for a building to unlock a minimum level and a guide only. If you haven’t unlocked the buildings and characters before it on the list, the building you are looking at won’t unlock simply because you’ve reached the minimum required level (the Post Office and Pimento Grove are the exceptions).
One more note: each time a new level comes out, the prices of the buildings at the upper levels change downwards. As it may take a while for me to change the details in the walkthroughs, here are links to the posts on the most recent prices:

Just finished level 30, and a new task popped up – “Good Eats” – 0/11 -cost 1donut. Is this a glitch? Will the game get stuck if I don’t complete? Hate having a task not done, but 11 donuts is steep
Hi – you don’t need to use donuts for it. You just have to complete it 11 times.

Dang, still no King Toot’s quest and I’m almost level 21… I’ve really done all the quests though…. I guess I’ll quit the main quest line and do the waterfront…
I’m stuck on level 22, not getting anywhere with it, my stars down to 2.5 but got got any progression missions to do!.
Hi – it may be part of the glitch in quest progression – your missing tasks should show up eventually.
Umm… I just noticed there is no “St. particks Day part 3″ on the special event list

when I tap on jasper’s tasks, the 24 hour task is locked stating ” kwikeemart required” and it is locked, when I have 5 kwikiee marts, is this a glitcch ?

Ever since whacking day everything has definitely changed, at least for me.
I got the police station before I got Luigi’s or even King Toot’s. I’ve kinda lost track of where I am since I’m technically at Level 23, but haven’t built King Toot’s, the Skip’s Diner, or the Penitentiary. I’ve decided to spend my $$$ purchasing extra land first. Now that my Springfield is growing, I’m using my knowledge of which buildings are coming next to pre-plan out where they are going to go and leave space for the ones I do not have yet. [and it will give me extra room once Squidport launches]
During Whacking Day, I visited way too many Springfields that were too crowded together with buildings right next to each.

I am having a problem with fat Tony’s compound. I finished the cleaner pt 3 and I never got the exclamation mark to prompt me to build the building I have multiple story lines going on right now

I wouldnt mind making amazon purchaes through the link to help the site, but that just takes me to the amazon US site, which is no use to me. Why dont you use google adsense or something similar to display ads in your blog. That way they would be relevant to the reader and more likely to get clicks. I wouldnt mind if there was a small unobtrusive ad in the footer of each page, and since your blog gets so many views, you could probably earn quite a lot from it .
I feel like im stealing all your time going on this blog, as you arent getting paid and it would be very time consuming, so im sure most readers wouldnt mind ads as long as they dont disrupt the blog (so keep any at the bottom of the page)
Especially now you have to pay for a dedicated server because of hostgator, i feel like you really should get paid for the effort you put into this.
PS. Have you complained to hostgator yet about thier awful customer service, as you could probably get a discount or something. All you would need to do is threaten to post on your blog about how awful hostgator is (holding your site hostage!), and because your blog is so popular they wont want this to happen.

I reloaded the game today as I purchased donuts before the sale – anyway it update 76 updates and I have a task for Bart that I don’t see listed anywhere called Illegitimate Concern – it has he and Mrs. Krabapple doing detention after he tells her he overheard the Principal talking about her.

Hi tsto tips I’ve just unlocked pet snake but can’t see him/her in my town and its not in my character collectibles,but I’ve already moved onto bear chested willie.my point is that I’ve got 5501 snakes but pet snake is not in my town.is this a glitch?

Hi Anonymous, just write down the name of the friend then cancel that friend request, then using the name you wrote down try to add them again, I have had this problem myself and this workaround seems to fix the issue. – add: jethrotheogre / 3legit3quit / gobignips and whitey0375 to your friends list

I got the prompt to build burns mansion and all of dr. Hibberts tasks has stopped after quimby goes for a checkup. I never got the prompt from burns to hide nucular waste “MEDICAL INDUSTRY CORRUPTION” is this happened to anyone else? Why is burns mansion coming up before springfield hospital?

I was prompt to build burns manor before the springfield hospital and tasks have stopped for dr. Hibbert after quimby goes for a check up, i never got a prompt from mr. Burns to hide nuclear waste “medical industry corruption” is this happening to anyone else? When does hibbert tasks come back? Hope i dint miss something

Back on track again build burns manor and dr hibberts tasks are going again. Also got the prompt to build wiggums house for around $96,000. Still no hospital hopefully hibberts tasks will continue so the hospital comes up

I have recieved the promt to build channel 6 from qiimby and im only on mrs k’s apartment (enda goes on strike) “all power to the people” is this normal and sould l build channel 6 or wait till done with all of ms k’s tasks? Also can build pimento grove. Build now.or wait?
Hi – finish the quest would be my advice. But Pimento Grove is fine to build – it unlocks at your XP level and not your game level
I have the gloureous grandpa custom what good does it do? Once you put it on grandpa simpson can you take off of him? does it give you extra money and xp? Dont want to put it on him if i cant take it off
Hi Rick – you can switch it easily in Grampa’s task screen. It doesn’t give you extra money and XP, but it does give you a few extra tasks

Hi Eric – that means you’ve finished the last of the level 23 quests. You’ll need to have Bart free so he van skip school – that starts the quests leading to the Hibbert Family Practice build.
I hit level 26 and I still don’t have Mrs. K’s building, or Town Hall. I’m past Springfield downs, but I dont know where to go from there.
Hi – next is the Gilded Truffle. There are some things that Homer and Marge have to do to get it built. I’ll be posting the next part of the walkthrough later today, but try and keep the two of them free in the meantime.
I hate to be a bother, but I have hit a problem with the triggering of Truffle Surprise Pt. 1.
I successfully completed Double Down on She’s a Loser Pt. 2 (lost even doing the 1-2 strategy) and was then prompted to have Marge clean the house (three hours) as opposed to being prompted to send Homer to the track. Stupidly, maybe, I went ahead and sent Homer to the track and both of their tasks finished at the same time. After this, I have never had the suggested “interaction” that leads to a prompt to send Homer to the track (i.e. Truffle Surprise Pt. 1).
I thought maybe I had too many “tasks” going as there were four. One completed so I doubt it was that. I had Marge and Homer do their 45 second tasks as a way to clear and hope it would trigger Truffle Surprise Pt. 1, it has not. I have Homer and Marge wondering around my city now. Any thoughts?
Keep giving all your characters 1 or 4 hour tasks – sometimes the random tasks get in the way of triggering the unlock building task order. It should come up automatically. If, you see nothing in the next 24 hours or so, come back and let me know.
Also, I was prompted to send Krusty to the track and I did. After his time at the track completed, there was another task for Marge, it was to clean the house again. So, I sent her on it and sent both Homer and Krusty (neither one has a task at the moment) to the Kwiki Mart.
It just seems strange.
It can be a bit unpredictable, but try to keep Homer and Marhe in tasks that finish at the same time.
